Ender's Game Special 20th Anniversary Edition (The Ender Quintet #1) by Orson Scott Card, Stefan Rudnicki (Narrator), Harlan Ellison (Narrator)

4 of 5 stars ****

Orson Scott Card writes an imaginative Science Fiction about a futuristic world facing extinction. Drastic measures to defeat that threat require genetic manipulation in order to breed the one General who can out-think that enemy who is taking over the universe one star system at a time.

Science Fiction stories written since the initial release of Ender's Game are inspired by Card's creation. A few Star Trek episodes come to mind with the introduction of the Borg; a single-minded collective who is famous for the line, "Resistance is futile"; hence, the need for the best of humanity to lead and defeat such a foe.

This author enjoys the escape from reality this book provides. The Special 20th Anniversary Edition has comments from the author who lends insight into the protagonist, the tests he faces, and its relation to life.
