Custer by Larry McMurtry

3 of 5 stars  ***

I learn a bit more about the lifestyles in the Northwest territories during Custer's era but I am not enthralled by this account. McMurtry validates Killing Lincoln's description of Custer's swashbuckling style and single-mindedness when it came to following orders in battle. I like the historical account overall but I leave this rendition of Custer slightly entertained and moderately enlightened.
