4 out of 5 stars ****
A death in the woods by a bear turns into a thrilling mystery. The protagonist, a man of medical science, knows from his investigative findings that people are being horribly slaughtered by someone, or something, still on the loose. A cover-up or a desire that such a gruesome case would be closed seems to be in play.
Listened to first 10 chapters... interesting. Deeper into the book, I enjoy Andrew Mayne's style of storytelling. The narration keeps suspense and thrills alive with voice inflections at appropriate moments.
The Naturalist fulfills this listener's expectations with a well-written, professionally performed reading of Andrew Mayne's wilderness story. Future books by this author warrant further attention on the To Be Read list.
